    The Lone Ranger

Post  The Great Splendini on Fri Dec 13, 2013 10:25 pm

    Just watched The Lone Ranger.

This film got little hype compared to Django Unchained.

I barely even knew it came out.

But it's basically the same theme - but Native Indians getting revenge instead of Blacks.

Why all the revenge-themed stories lately? Is the Matrix trying to tell us something?

Lone Ranger was actually more enjoyable and had some interesting themes.

For instance, his story is similar to the Jesus story. He gets betrayed by someone close to him. This leads to his death. He is then reborn and saves others.

    Fun and educational!

Man would I fucking kill to have a white horse like that. Is she beautiful or what?

Ride 'em up, mothafuckas. Hi Ho Silver.

Yeah?  Yeah well u want to want I thought of this movie, was that it SUCKED.

If they hadn't done the time warp thing it might have been ok.

Ok when they did they did "dump dump, dump dump dump dump!" trhaT WAS ALL RIGHT.

    But Johnny Depp?

They could have done much better.

OK, so i'm half and half on this movie.

But that's only because I'm old enough of kid.

    To have watched the original.

    Every saturday morning.

    Johnny Depp was NOT Tonto!

Actually I like Johnny Depp in Pirates.

He did a great job as Captain Jack Sparrow in those movies.

But this one, I'm not so sure.

watched Gandhi not too long ago.

it's creepy how good the actor was portraying gandhi - whatshisface... can never remember that guy's name.

    especially considering he's not indian.

but you gotta wonder why hollywood refuses to cast natives in those roles. how many people are there in india? there must be a few that look like gandhi, no?

same with Tonto. i mean, the accent was a bit silly. they can't give a chance for a native american to get a starring role in a film?

I watched Avatar and Lone Ranger on a projector screen with good sound system.

    Makes a huge difference.

I'd like to buy a projector at some point and start watching films on giant screens. Much better than laptops.

Both films had a lot of eye candy.

But what I've noticed about Hollywood films is that they blend some genius in with some utter stupidity.

Some parts of Lone Ranger are clearly aimed at kids, complete with silly fart jokes (it's made by Disney), but then it deals with oppression of Natives and revenge on the oppressor and includes a scene where a man cuts out another man's heart. (a bit heavy for kids,no)

anyway, you're dumbing me down again.

i could care less about johnny depp's acting abilities or how closely he resembles the original tonto.

when i look at movies, i try to analyze them from a deeper level.

this film is identical to django unchained. it's about a minority group oppressed by white man getting revenge.

is it a coincidence that both films were released months apart?

what is the Matrix (which Hollywood is a part of) trying to tell us?

Oh man, I'm watching Captain Phillips right now.  This movie is extremely good...

Also it's a true story, so that much more compelling.

I know Poo typed a bunch of crap before this but I didn't read it cuz he's on my ignore list.

I much prefer the sound of my own voice, even shitfaced, which is when I postly.

(The word Postly means "post mostly"  When I'm fkn loaded)

Anyway, i've always thought Tom Hanks was a fucking piece of shit actor and I still do.  But by the same token I have to admit he's also pretty good at acting.

This movie is really well made and mostlievable, which means mostly believable.  Except some of it I think is probably bullshit, and thus these such asspects remind me of Pi in many ways.

By the way this movie is about *real* pirates.  I can't imagine these savage somali dickbag pirates, living their whole piss stain life waiting to knab an american cargo ship.  It must blow their mind because once they're aboard the ship there is order and not everything is made of poop, but to their credit they keep on pirating their asses off nonetheless.

Also I want to mention something about Pi's pretend GF, because I totally fucked her -directly in her vagina.    pirat

    Best quote of the movie:

Pirate:  "Last year I took a greek ship, 6 million dollars."

Captain Phillips:  "Six million dollars?  So what are you doing here?"

Pirate:  "Shut up, Irish.  Too much talk."

Captain Philllips:  "Well, your problem isn't me talking.  Your problem is you not listening."   lol! lol!

You gotta admit that's a pretty ballsy thing to say when you're being held hostage by Somali pirates.

I know a chinese cargo ship captain who had to deal with these african pirates. Fortunately for him they were not able to get the ladders up high enough to board.

But seriously for the life of me I can't understand why they don't equip cargo ships with machine gun turrets. Problem fkn solved right there.

Back to the OP, whoever the F poo's name is...

If Silkes likes it, fine. But you my friend have no GD excuse whatsoever.

All I have to say about the Lone Ranger movie is:

"To the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump, dump.

To the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump, dump.

    to the dump, dump, dump...

    To the dump.

    Dump-da-da-dump, dump. Dump!"

    Cuz it's a piece a shit!

why is it ok for silkes to like it then?

yeah, hey silkes. watch Dead Poets Society.

that's a great film. great acting. great story. they don't need to have trains exploding for 2 hours.
and robin williams is one of the few hollywood actors that graduated from kindergarten.

and that sweaty-toothed madman sciency can go fuck himself if he doesn't like Dead Poets Society.

    Jokes on you asshole.

I never watched that film.  I hate Ben Affleck, Robin Williams, and whoever else was in that overacted piece of shit movie that I never even watched.

BTW:  I recently gave Tom Hanks a pass, because of "Captain Philipps".  Despite his oscar grabbing crying pussy scene at the end.

I rescind that almost entirely now, after having read up.  The REAL Captain Philipps intentionally led his crew through pirate-infested waters in the hope of saving money for his corporate masters.  There is an ongoing investigation and lawsuit.

The movie is still good, however, and I highly recommend it.  The other Tom Spanks movie though, "Saving Mr. Spanks".... Jesus!  I couldn't even get five minutes in to.

That's how fkn BAD Tom Hanks is.  I can't even GET IT IN!  (Except occasionally)

Bosom Buddies was his best work.  Back when he was honest and acted like the total gay fag that he is.

The Lone Ranger is total crap. Johnny Depp should have quit while he was ahead.

I watched "Unforgiven" in the theater.

Talk about irony.  I was in Portland, Maine.

My wife (now ex) was there with me, and HER MOTHER (Enemy of scientolology!)

All of us were there at the same time, and my love of the movie in the one of two theaters in Maine.... was off the hook!

    Go Maine!!!!   cheers cheers

Maine is inveritably loyal to the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Unlike Canada, whom we must look out for!
