    started doing daily jogs.

    and then i thought fuck this faggedy ass jogging shit.

    so i started...drum roll... SPRINTING.

    like a fuckin bear was on my ass.

    i'm gonna be un fuckin stoppable.

    i'm gonna whip my fat ass into shape like there's no fuckin' tomorrow.

    and you can start calling me THE FLASH as of ASAP

    You'll lose weight running for sure.

    I should get back into it. I used to be a hell of a runner when I was young. I could breeze over 7 miles in just a bit over half an hour.

    I'm kinda glad I didn't keep it up tho. People I know who are life-long runners look fkn HAGGARD. Really, they don't look good. I think it ages you faster or something.

    no, not long-distance running / jogging.

    jogging is BAD for you. there's enough science to back it up.

    i just do 30 second sprints, full speed. when i'm out of breath, i walk.

    then i keep repeating for 30 seconds.

    it approximates playing sports. coz let's say you're playing soccer. you're walking most of the time, alternating with brief spurts of sprinting.

    and since playing team sports is too complicated as it involves the co-operation of others, this is the next best thing.

    yeah, not long-distance prolonged running/jogging.

    It depends on how far you run. 30km+/week has a negative impact on your health. I run roughly 20km/week which is actually good for your health.

    Intervall runs are more effective though so yes, intervalls, especially uphills, are good. Not that there are any in beijing anyway

    I wasn't doing long-distance running.

    I just tried doing 100 meter sprints.

    Now my knees are fucking killing me.

    So I'm done.

    Maybe I didn't do it properly, maybe I pushed myself too hard, maybe I didn't warm up properly.

    OR maybe I'm too heavy and my bodyweight is too much for my knees and I've been out of shape for too long.

    But man is it painful.

    So fuck that. I'm going to totally fuck up my knees if I keep doing this.

    Cycling is probably much better as there is no impact on the joints.

    Or HIKING on hilly terrain. NOT running.

    It sounds like you didnt warm up properly and you should take it easy the first few weeks. I suggest your exercise once per week and walk in high tempo for 10-15 mins before you start sprinting.

    My knee also start hurting if i havent exercised in a long while. Really, jogging/running is brilliant exercise. You might want to considercswimming too. Minimal chance of injuries.

    Ok, maybe I'll give it another try.

    And take it much easier when I start.

    I was sprinting at full speed.

    Maybe I'll try 50% full speed for a few weeks or something.

    It burns a hell of a lot more calories than walking.

    Ok, thanks. Maybe I gave up too easy. But I'm paranoid about fucking up my knees.
