A New Age, Can't You Feel It?

Post  RobertBlack on Sat Sep 17, 2016 6:45 am

We are entering a new age. Can't you feel it? It is not the world of cold wars. Not even the age of human vs human wars, though that will be a part of it. We are entering, as predicted, wars waged against us by nature, a revengeful planet. The ants will one day record, for their ancestors to see, how the dinosaurs, the giant monsters were wiped out, probably by a meteor.

We are in between Pisces and Aquarius, but closer and closer to Aquarius as we move into it.

Yes, this is The Dawning of The Age of Aquarius.   lol!

We are beyond The Dawning now I think.  It's more like.... phase one?

Yeah, that's right. This is going to be an age of peace. Aquarius is a passive ruler, the water bearer and the creative thinker. There is no tolerance for war, but being anti-war is the most difficult thing to ever be. It requires great intelligence and bravery. War is easy. Peace is a long, hard slog. But it's coming, even if the news cycles make it seem to be the other way around.

You know you really got me thinking about this, so I tried to Google up our position between Pisces and Aquarius in image search.

It's impossible to find with any search parameters I used.  All I kept getting was astrological bullshit and pornography.

One key difference that everyone needs to realize is that Aquarius is not emotional and selfless like Pisces.

Aquarius is intellectual and does want for himself.

    Aquarius is technological innovation.

So we might finally get spaceships, airports in the sky, Star Trek devices.

But no, I don't feel anything.

Yeah, I never liked that Aquarian future where we'll walking around in white robes and living in domes though.

Technology is kind of stagnating if you ask me. Windows 10 for example, sucks ass.

We're still diving cars with internal combustion, though the EVs are starting to take off more and the hybrids.

    Jets haven't much.

There's still no robot that can do housework. Well, they robots can do all kinds of things now, but only in strictly controlled environments.

I've given my thoughts on the self-driving cars and how we are absolutely not there yet. It's fine that their researching it, but we should never put them on the roads for real. Our AI just isn't there yet.

They can't even follow human language well yet. Well, Misuku is pretty good:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

And supposedly she can learn, but if you ask her "If there are five apples and I take away three, how many are left?" She gets all confused and gives some flippant answer. Then no matter how much you try to it to her, she can't get it figured out. I mean you can teach her the answer to that one question, but not the concepts that will allow her to answer similar word problems.

She's pretty smart in other ways though. She will really surprise you sometimes. Othertimes it's just all dingbatland.

I think they had robot english teachers in south korea.

and robot waiters in china. but they were incompetent?

but don't be too quick to wish robot technology to be perfected.

because they WILL rule over us.

you think asian bosses are bad.

    you ain't seen nothin' yet.

Read my book. It's about a solar system ruled over by AIs, among other things.

Or don't read it. It's ok, I know you won't. Razz

You read enough of my crap already.

    I lost interest in reading.

I will read your book eventually. But honestly man, I don't feel like reading shit now.

I read blogs. that's about it.

Yeah, I never tell people to read my book. It's highly esoteric science fiction that really only holds appeal to a certain niche.

Telling people to read your book is like saying, "Hey, go spend two days of your time doing nothing but listening to me."

That said, I did try to write it on a level that the layman can mostly follow. The science stuff just sounds like techno-babble, which is what you find in most sci-fi.

Mine is not babble however; it's real science.

It's a guided unfolding of the solar system and the situation it is facing though, rather infodumping everything out there, so there's a hump to get over. I knew this when I planned to book but did it anyway, because infodumping drives me nuts too. Guided unfolding, although confusing to reader initially, makes the work more intriguing. I feel.

I will get back into reading and I'll try to read your book.

    But not now.

Like I said, you don't have to F-ing read it.

Just read shit on the internet. That's what I do. I rarely sit down and read a novel.

We've basically got three active users on this site, two are writers and one is not.

So yeah, let's both keep plugging our books here.... to Pi. tongue

    Get reading, boy!

Oh yes, believe it or not, Pi is literate, however his comprehension is remedial at best.   study
