    Yeah, he is cool.

    THE DECISION TO LIVE

    There may come a time
When you decide to ride life
    Like a surfer
    Celebrating
On the crest of a wave
Using life to get to where you want to go
    In the best possible way
The most enjoyable and satisfying way
    That somewhere may be nowhere
Or it may be some place you want to go
    Have decided to go
    It may mean getting stoned
    Or drunk
    Exercising
    Meditating
    Doing yoga
    Or tai chi
It may mean traveling around the world
It may mean hanging out with a beautiful or rich girlfriend
    It may mean creating art
It may mean losing friends and family
    It often means being lazy
    Unconventional
    Selfish
    And irresponsible
In the eyes of the “normal” person
Who has not yet made the decision
And remains a slave to life
    To accepted norms
    Work
    The mortgage
    Car loans
    Credit cards
    The paycheck
    Marriage and kids
Some people will make the decision very early in their lives
Others will never make the decision
They will just continue to swim against the current
Though they will believe they are swimming downstream
    Making ground
    Progressing
    And doing the right thing
But when they get very old
    Tired
    And frail
    There may be some moments
    Of regret
    And before they die
They may choose to tell some young person
    Perhaps their grandchild
    Child
    Or just a friend
    To make the decision
    They never did

    THE COLLAR

    I always saw
    Being a lawyer
    As being the same as
    Working in the concrete works
    At Kaiwaka
    It is slavery
    Whichever way
You wish to look at it
    In fact
I enjoyed working at the concrete works
    Far more
    Because back then
    There was hope
    Real hope
    That one day
    I would become a writer
    No one pigeon holed me
    As they constantly do
    When you are a lawyer
    I would actually demote
    Being a lawyer
    To blue collar
    Not because you need
    To get down and dirty
    To make a buck
    But when I began writing
    I felt that
    Being a lawyer
    Was far below me
    And that
    White collar was reserved
    For artists and philosophers

    And one for Sciency:

    IMBIBING BETWEEN THE SLAVERY

    Imbibing between the slavery
    A slight reprieve
    From the shameless thief
    Truth drowning reality
    My vision returns
    Searching for proof
    Sunset gone
    Sunrise set
    Please don’t wake me
    Before I forget

When it comes to work, I'll stop at nothing!

“Most of us spend all our working life dreaming of doing nothing, then when we end up doing nothing, we long for something. When we have neither longing, I think that is what they call living for the moment.”
― Robert Black, The Control Sickness

“The problem with working, I mean not self-employed, is that you have to get up and routinely do something that you do not want to do, plus you get talked down to, ordered around by twats, you know you are better than. In reality, you are no better than a slave, no better than a hamster running on a wheel. You could say the hamster likes to run on the wheel, the hamster runs on the wheel by choice. But do not forget, the hamster is always in a cage, and will never be anything else, but a hamster running on a wheel inside a cage, unless it escapes the cage.”

I am happy to report, that I have been doing quite well in the slavery department, since the time I arrived in China.

I mean, I don't think we could class teaching English in China, slavery. Because there are so many options. Don't like it, just leave. And believe me, I did.

And just before I left China, I really couldn't be fucked teaching classes.

So I tutored one to one, and acted.

Since I left China, I taught briefly in Europe, two countries, mostly tutoring, that totaled about 9 months,

I had a couple of weeks, in a UK law firm, actually appeared in court, and won a case, as a paralegal.

Got sick of that, so quit.

Oh, and 2 days kiwifruit picking in New Zealand.

So, all in all, in 6 years I have worked, self-employed mind you, less than ten months.

What I have found is, there are always ways of making money. That's why I have never respected money that much, or rich people, worse, people trying to get rich, at the cost of their lives.

Gambling, can be like work, if you take it seriously enough.

In my life, the best job would have been acting, it wasn't easy at times, but the rewards were great. It's creative, after all.

And I did two seasons, apple picking in Kent, when they actually could not get English pickers. that is, before the Eastern Europeans went in their droves, and lowered the salary from about 80-100 pounds cash a day (with free accommodation), to about 40 pounds per day, and pay for accommodation.

That was an awesome job. Beautiful scenery, easy, pure work. it was so good I went back for a second season from the Gold Coast.

I met this hard cunt from the UK, all he did was apple pick around the world. he bought these round the world tickets for like 200 pounds, all open dates for a year. He picked in UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. He told me all he ever did, was walk, and read. He had saved enough to buy a piece of land in New Zealand, which would be worth a shitload now. Land is the answer, if you ever get money, buy land. It doesn't matter too much where, as long as it is freehold.

    The worst jobs?

Law, definitely. Everyone thinks it is this glamorous existence. It's not. It's fucking hard work, and the rewards are few.

I never lost a jury trial, used to do serious violence, I remember those wins very proudly, because I had become about 80% of my potential to win them. Extremely fit, extremely focused, cause if you lose that shit, some Maori killer cunt is going to jail for a very long time, and there can be "repercussions" of losing, believe me. A colleague of mine was stabbed eight times in the chest, for losing a case. If I had fucked up my cases. for some of them I could have been killed.

When I was a lawyer, no one said to me, wow, that is great! That is awesome, you're a lawyer. They mostly said, how can you do that shit?

After I quit, nearly 80 % of people I have told, have judged me. How could you leave such a wonderful job!? You USED to be something, didn't you!? What happened!!?

    Lol.

Any other bad job, I usually quit within a week, so they were not so bad.

Oh, and another thing, after I quit law, and told chicks I was "writing" I easily scored far hotter girls than I could have ever dreamed. Check out my Bali Fungus Goodreads page, other photos, if you don't believe me.

And one last ting, that annoys people such as me, is people think they know what the fuck they are talking about. How can you be a a lawyer again, you would have forgotten all the laws? You don't memorize the law, you apply them. laws change daily, hourly.

You either have the ability to think fast and be clever in court, fearless, or you don't. But your mind, never changes,

A Kiwi lawyer, how could you possibly work in London? This beauty from a labourer. Almost got me. But what i found was the opposite. NZ lwyers can go to court, full court at 20. I was 22, on that fateful first day, in the High Court.

I found the lawyers in the firm, were like 30's and had never even been to court! It was a fucking joke. Same as US.

My reaction now is, you wanna talk to me about being a lawyer, you go and pass the bar exam and go and win a jury trial. Cause until then, you may as well be a blob of gurgling shit. Only lawyers know.

Same as in China. You wanna talk to me about China, and the Chinese, you live there 5 years first. Cause until then, you may as well be a Nazi in nappies.

“The thing I find confusing about money is, though everyone is trying to get it, the more I have, the worse I feel. I suppose that is why I always get rid of it as fast as I can by trading it in for fun and free living, and try to assist my girlfriends to do the same. It’s not very karmic, after all.”

    "Your life is your life
don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission.
    be on the watch.
    there are ways out.
    there is a light somewhere.
it may not be much light but
    it beats the darkness.
    be on the watch.
the gods will offer you chances.
    know them.
    take them.
    you can’t beat death but
you can beat death in life, sometimes.
and the more often you learn to do it,
the more light there will be.
    your life is your life.
know it while you have it.
    you are marvelous
    the gods wait to delight
    in you.”

There are plenty of teaching jobs in Beijng ATM, but freelancing is dangerous now, particularly in Beijing. Gotta have that Z visa sponsored by your school. I used to be able to freelance for schools other than my sponsor, but I wouldn't dare do it now. So even though teaching positions are still fairly abundant in Beijing, you are quite restricted from job hopping. If you school refuses to give that release letter you gotta leave the country and reapply for the Z from scratch.

I talked a guy who was working in Guangzhou.  Apparently they're not so strict there, but I'd still be weary because it's moving in that direction all over.  I know of foreign immigrants/semi-perms/illegals live there but most have moved out country now because all the tightening of restriction and increased enforcement of visa violations.

    I read they are introducing a new A B C system now.

Don't go back to the mainland.

Why live in a corrupt, western hating country.

I don't miss the mainland at all.

when i left, something switched off the light, blew out the candle.

    There are far better places,

I will probably set up in Taiwan.

The only cunt is, you need to have a Masters to teach uni.

But when you think of it, that is a good thing.

I mean a real Masters, the amount of people I met in China, using fake degrees, was ridiculous.

Yep, and that's one of the reasons living there is shit.

If they would issue a Business Visa that the foreigner owns, you could build up a clientele of students from your own apartment and never have to deal with the corrupt employers. And over time, you could build up a huge clientele if you're good and your name circulates.

Instead, you have to deal with corrupt employers and year after fucking year keep renewing that fucking goddamn visa. Fucking mental illness.

Yep, and they know they've got you by the short hairs on it too and use it to their full advantage.

They're control obsessed, and ass-kiss obsessed, and can never get it through their skulls that ESL teachers don't respond well to that.

    Thus everyone is miserable.

I'm so ashamed at how stupid I am, I almost feel suicidal.

China was a fucking never-ending loop of being laid off.

You start a new job, go through all the hard work of learning what you need, then it all comes crashing down.

They get their rocks off by abusing employees, which starts with subtle control games and almost always ends in laying people off.

This game will go on forever. It's a never-ending hamster wheel.

And I need to get off it for once and for all.
