    How's this?

    This vegetable, which I don't even know what it is, came from Beijing an is now growing here in our kitchen.

    Seems to like the warm also, may get a bit of a shock, it was minus 17 c the other day. And we have a foot of snow most days.

    It's a parsnip. Quite common where I'm from, and also in China.

    I use them in stews. It's also commonly pickled and used in sushi.

    In China they will cut it into slivers and leave them to dry out. Then stirfry them with other stuff. It's quite good that way.
