    in houston there was:

    1 - a curfew

2 - increased penalties for looting .... ie made it a more severe crime with mandatory jail time coz there must be a lot of looting taking place during storms ...

well, i've been listening to some kooks ...

and one theory is that during these times of crises, some people fuck with levies to cover their own asses, which redirects flooding to other areas ???? or something shady like that.

The reason meteorology is so flawed in its predictions is because the science is based off observation of lower atmosphere conditions. They are slowly waking up to realize that Earth weather is caused on Space Weather. There are two main factors: 1. The Solar Cycle and 3. Cosmic rays.

This season with the storms and the earthquake in mexico yesterday is a result of a rapid decline into a Solar Minimum.

I'm very much in Florida and in the projected path of the Eye.   cyclops

The winds are expected to die down considerably by the time it gets here. Hurricanes thrive over water and die out over land. It's still gonna be a shitstorm but this house has a good roof designed for hurricane force winds.  Flooding should not be an issue.  Down the street it will be but not here.  I'm near the top of the high ground and it drains in two directions into lakes.

I'm here with my father.  We've got a generator, food, etc. We'll be fine.  I'm more worried about the elderly neighbors nearer to the lake and those in trailers.  You really don't want to be in a trailer.

IF the roof goes on this place, there is a concrete school open for shelter about 1/2 a mile from here.

My sister evacuated from The Keys.  Some of her friends are staying there, which is truly nuts.  I guess they haven't seen what Irma did to those tropical islands in her wake, just devastated them in totality.  The Keys at their high point are only like 2-3 meters above sea level.  Those people bunking down there aren't just taking a risk, they're taking a huge risk.  That whole area could be completely underwater tomorrow.

I don't think looting is gonna be an issue here.  It's a small town and too many people own guns.

We helped a 90 year old lady prepare for evacuation yesterday and she was packing heat.

I just want to loot a couple bottles from the liquor store, that's all.  I mean, I would never do that obviously, but if I find any liquor just like floating by it's mine.

He shouldn't. Hey, I tolerated a ton of shit from him before I gave any back.  He can be quit or come back or do whatever the F he wants.  I'm not following some arbitrary rule about not ever mentioning previous forum members.

EVERYONE has left.  So I can't mention Pi, Otto, CZ, Leviathan, NiceOne, UFC, Silky, LeoChick, or the host of pood detractors and part timers who've come through here either?  Why not?  They're part of this place.  It's not like hardly anybody is reading this forum these days anyway.

I think a lot of our guest traffic is coming from Google, since we are front page ranking for searches on "satanic forum."

Low areas in Miami are gonna get flooded over like Houston.  The winds are expected to be higher than tornado winds, so more roofs blown off houses like on those islands that got hit.

The Keys could very well end up completely under the sea.  Suicidal to remain there.  It's a "mandatory evacuation," but it's not like they're forcing people out either, so a bunch of numbnuts are staying, seriously putting their lives at risk by doing so.

The highways out of southern FL are clusterfuck from what I hear with congestion and people running out of gas and stuff.  Here everything is calm and quiet, like usual.  Today it got overcast and windy with a big temperature drop.  We're gonna get walloped Saturday night through Monday, according to the predictions.

Yeah, the keys are only a few meters above sea level at their highest points.  Can you imagine your entire neighborhood, all houses and roads, joining as one with the undersea kingdom?  Even if you manage to get to a boat, the seas are gonna be violent and shit flying and drifting around everywhere.

Yet... a ton of people are hunkering down.

It's probably because they've been through hurricanes before and are drawing from that memory and not considering the size of this one and the footage of it ravaging 90%+ of the properties in its path on the islands.  The Keys are lower than that.  I'm really concerned that thousands of people are gonna die.

This storm's diameter is 500 miles, over the length of the entire state of Florida and has some of the strongest winds ever recorded.  The last bad one was Andrew which isn't a third the size of Irma.

But the government doesn't have the mandate or the manpower to physically force people out of their homes for a "mandatory evacuation" so a bunch of people are staying.  Maybe they'll luck out... somehow.  I don't see how based on the map.  Even if Irma doesn't turn North at me like projected The Keys are still gonna struck head on.

The death toll may be staggering.

5 Million evacuating Miami and the roads out are a clusterfuck.

But not southbound. I should whiz down to Miami to try to save all those cocaine stashes from getting washed away. bounce

I bounce between Maine and Florida.  Maine is home... or used to be.  Now nothing is.

I'm north of Orlando, so not sweating bullets here.

The living room is filled with everything we hauled in from outside, mostly potted trees and plants. It looks like a jungle in here. Probably gonna get an ant infestation out of it. Rolling Eyes

Figure we'll get hit with heavy rainfall and winds, but nothing the house can't tolerate.  Power and internet are going out for sure.

I'm using everyone south of me as a human shield to slow down the storm.

So unless God breaks out some fancy trick shot at this point, like sending it up the coast and then suddenly vearing it back at me, I should be reasonably ok.  I'm guessing damage to the garden and latticey stuff, maybe the fences.  The building itself is built like a brick shithouse and it has hurricane roofing. I'll help out the neighbors if they get into trouble.  Hopefully nobody else has to shelter here.  Unless they're bringing me booze, then they're welcome.

Now I'm out of the cone of the eye as they predict a shift more westward, likely to hit Tampa.

I spent some in time in Tampa. My ex-wife (GF at the time) was going to uni in Tampa. I bought a plane ticket from Egypt and went there with no more money and lived in the girls dorms at the University of Florida. They had to sneak me in and out of the building and to the bathroom. The girls also scavenged me food from the cafeteria. Then I took a bus to southern New England, then hitchhiked from Connecticut and back up to Maine, where I got dock work for a seafood processing company.

And on and on and on it went and continues to go. Rolling Eyes

They don't know WTF this storm is gonna do. Keys are getting hit tonight. Expect a death toll.

    wow, that's mind blowing.

they can't predict where it will hit.

and they said it was miami, but now it's tampa at the last minute?

so did people in tampa evacuate?

    wow.

The news of the (second) predicted westward shift just came today.

Day before yesterday it was looking to up the east coast.

Yesterday I was going to get hit dead on by the eye.

Today it's passing up the west coast of FL.

Who fkn knows.  My sister's friends who stayed in The Keys just posted a picture of their street flooded up over a foot.  The storm hasn't even hit there yet.  Quite a few people are going to die down there I'm afraid.

Now my region is on a tornado watch.  The outer effects of the approaching system are expected to form tornados here.  That happened like a decade ago, two tornados preceding a hurricane system formed and struck a few miles west of here.
